Privacy Policy
This policy explains how DreamLyra handles data during trial, licensing, store, and support flows.
What data is processed
- License and trial: your license key, activation status, when it was activated and used, and a "device code" for this computer. The device code turns your computer's information into a string that cannot be turned back, and is used to check which computer the license key was activated on. When you use the trial, DreamLyra also sends up to 4 such codes made from computer parts (motherboard, BIOS, boot drive and similar); the server keeps only a further-converted version, which cannot reveal part models or serial numbers, and uses it only to stop the same computer from claiming the trial again.
- Purchases and store: the purchase email and transaction identifier returned by Gumroad or PayPal, and your credit status in DreamLyra.
- Support: emails, issue descriptions, screenshots, or diagnostics that you choose to send.
- Store recommendations: to improve store recommendations, we collect de-identified store interaction statistics (views, previews, wishlist additions, purchases) that cannot be linked to a person; turning off personal recommendations in the player settings stops sending them.
- Update result reports: starting with version 4.3.0, the player sends an "update result report" to the DreamLyra server only after you use its built-in update. One report is sent per update attempt, whether the update succeeded or failed. It contains the version you updated from and to, the player version sending the report, whether the update succeeded (or at which step it stopped) and an error code, the names of program files that could not be restored after a failed update (file names only), the Windows version number, the names of installed antivirus products, a short report code, and the time of the update. It does not include your license key, device code, Windows user name, folder paths, songs, or settings, and the server does not store your IP address with it. These reports are used only to find and fix update problems. The report code is shown on the failure screen; if you send it to support, we can look up that one report. Reports are kept for 180 days and then deleted.
How it is used
Data is used for license activation, trial abuse prevention, credit sync, support, product reliability, and improving store recommendations.
Storage and providers
DreamLyra uses Cloudflare infrastructure for the website, API, and database. Lifetime license purchases are handled by Gumroad; credit top-ups are handled by Gumroad or PayPal. Payment details are handled by the payment provider used for that transaction; DreamLyra does not store full card details.
